Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzales-Collins works as a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is currently employed by ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter and, occasionally, host SportsNation. She started working at ESPN in the year 2016. The child of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was a bilingual since she was nine years old, a valuable skill that helped her secure her first position as a production assistant at Univision in Miami and gave her an opportunity to work with producers of national programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Her first job was as reporter for an affiliate of the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. She worked as a journalist on KNVO TV 48 Univision in Rio Grande Valley Texas. In 1992, the couple divorced soon after. In 1995, she remarried Fabio Fajardo, a naval engineer who passed away in the year 2006 due to kidney cancer. In June of 2006, she spent the week she spent with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working at the time. A senior in high school but with a clear idea about what she wanted to pursue in her future, Antonietta went to at the University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her goals. It was discovered that she was a fan of the campus and that the school offered the program she desired. She finished her education and received a scholarship to the University with a degree in media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU where she is a part of.
